I like Crunk.
I find it very similar to Pimpjuice in the fact that rappers have something to do with each company, as well as the way they taste. Pimpjuice tastes a little more like juice than Crunk, but Crunk is still good.

Many people that I have seen drink it cringe and say they don’t like it, but I think it’s pretty good.

Can is cool and definitely stands out. This is worth trying if you haven’t.

I give it an 8/10.

Go Fast

The first time I had Go Fast I really liked it, however the next two times I had it I couldn’t even finish it.

I’m not really sure why this happened, but I’m basing this review off of the more recent time I tried it.

It has a very bitter after taste, but at first sip it’s tart and sweet.
I like the packaging, and the fact that is a 12 oz. can. I think 12 oz. cans stick out in the energy drink industry, because they look different than all the other products surrounding them.

I give it a 3/10.

Jones Mixed Berry

I was excited about getting this energy drink because I knew it was made by the same people who make the Jones Sodas, which I love.

This drink was nothing too exciting though. It has a generic berry flavor. I was also annoyed with the fact that I had to buy this drink in a 4 pack. I hate when drinks are only sold in 4 packs.

The packaging is nothing amazing. It is pretty eye-catching though with the pinkish purple background.

I give it a 5/10

Syzmo

This was the very original Syzmo. Way before the Green, Blue, and Red cans came out.

It says on the can both that this drink is organic, and that it contains Blue Agave. I’m not really sure what agave is doing in an energy drink, but it worked in this drink.

I remember this being pretty good for an organic drink. It was highly carbonated and pleasant to drink.

I don’t really like this can as much as I do the 3 new flavors, but this one was alright.

It gets 6/10.

Raw Dawg

I got Raw Dawg Energy Drink in Boston, for a long time I had been hearing about this drink and it was at the top of my list to get.

I finally got a hold of it in a 7/11 in downtown Boston, and I was pretty excited that I finally had it.

Upon taking the first sip I was pretty disappointed. It had a strong cherry flavor. I was kind of bitter and not easy to drink.

I think the packaging is fitting for an energy drink though, with the huge dog on the front.

Overall though pretty disappointing. 4/10

Base

I got Base in Canada as well, I think that it’s pretty popular there.

I remember Base Energy drink being really good. It was sour and tasted clean.

I really like the can. It’s not cluttered at all. Base is an interesting name for an energy drink, but I think overall there really isn’t much bad about this drink.

Fluid Fusion Craz

I remember this drink being pretty good.

It was a fusion of Cranberry and Raspberry. It tasted like those two kinds of juices mixed together and then carbonated. I enjoyed it.

Packaging is kind of cool, I think that a different background other than silver would be good. But overall an interesting idea, and pretty good drink.

I give it a 7/10.

Hype Gold

I’ve only seen this drink once as well. I got it in a Walgreen’s or CVS in Montreal.

I think that it was just like the normal Hype Energy Drink, but I could be wrong. I don’t really remember the taste.

I like the gold packaging, it’s pretty noticeable and cool looking. I would probably buy this again if I ever saw it.

Based mostly on packaging I’ll give it a 5/10

Red Rain

Got this in Canada as well.

It was also a Red Bull clone, just like Red Rave. I believe that Red Rain has recently come out with new flavors, but I have not found them yet.

I don’t like the packaging of this one either. It’s too cheap looking and boring.

I don’t like this one, but I want to try the new ones.

Red Rave

I also got this drink in Canada a long time ago.

The time that I got this was the only time I have seen it, and it was sitting right next to Red Rain. They have almost exactly the same can, with a different name. Now I see Red Rain at Walmart, but I haven’t seen Red Rave again.

As far as flavor this was a Red Bull clone. This doesn’t surprise me because of the colors used on the can. It just has the feel that it would taste like Red Bull.

It’s a pretty plain energy drink that doesn’t have much to offer.
Packaging is nothing to rave about.

I got this drink in Canada, when I went about 3 years back, they had this drink everywhere, and I hadn’t seen it in the U.S.

I have no idea why this drink was so popular in Canada, because I hated the way it tasted.
I remember it tasting awful.

I see this drink a lot now in healthy food stores like Whole Foods. Maybe that’s part of why I didn’t like it’s taste very much. Guru recently came out with a lot more flavors which I think are a lot better.

Maybe I should give it another try or something because I didn’t see what was to like about this drink, besides the packaging which I think is pretty cool.

180 Citrus Blast

180 Lemon Lime Citrus Blast

This is by far the least popular of the 180 Energy Drinks.

I very very rarely see this drink. I’m not sure why but normally I only see the Orange flavor of 180.

I don’t like anything really about this drink. The packaging looks cheap, and the drink itself is no go. I think I remember it having the flat Sprite taste. I prefer all of the other 180 drinks over this one.

I wouldn’t recommend this drink. 3/10.

Arizona Extreme Energy

Arizona Extreme Energy Shot

This is the first of the many Arizona Energy Drinks that I tried.

I’m not exactly sure why Arizona, a company known for its teas entered so many energy drinks into the market, but this one wasn’t a good entry at all.

For some reason I have the sugar-free version instead of the normal version on this one, which I should work on changing soon, but I think this was a large part of why I didn’t like it.

I don’t like the packaging on this one. The white background is plain and boring. It would hardly be noticeable in a group of other drinks.

Overall I don’t like this one much. 2/10.

Moxie

Moxie Energy Drink was named after Moxie Cola which used to be very popular up north.

I really liked the energy drink, the packaging is pretty cool looking, it’s bright and eye-catching. I am glad that the energy drink was made to be modern looking instead of the cola which has an old classic look to it.

As far as taste goes, Moxie scores well again. It doesn’t so much taste like cola, but you can still tell that it is based off the flavor of a soda. It reminded me of a better Monster Assault.

I would give Moxie Energy Drink a 7/10

KMX Blue

I liked KMX Blue a lot more than KMX Orange. I tend to like "blue flavored" energy drinks, such as Blue by Blue Sky. They are usually sweet and nicely flavored.

KMX Blue unlike KMX Orange was not overpowering with flavor, it was much more subtle and easy to drink. It had a good non-cotton candy flavor, which is good.

I have no idea where the name KMX came from, but I am interested to know, so if you have any idea leave a comment. I think Coke should have made that clear, but anyways, as with the other KMX, I like the can. I think this can is better, because I like the light blue color over the orange.

I would also like to try this flavor again, just to see what I think after trying so many more energy drinks.

Overall 6/10.

KMX Orange

I remember that I was very excited when I saw this product at a gas station. I knew that it had already been discontinued, and that the cans were getting to be very hard to find. Luckily, I got a can of KMX Orange and KMX Blue, Coke's first energy drinks that failed.

Upon opening this, I remember tasting a very strong almost spicy orange flavor. It almost hurt to swallow, in a way sort of like Cocaine or Scalded Dog. It was overpowering and unpleasant. I think that the orange was overwhelming to the point where you couldn't enjoy the drink, you had to almost choke it down.

I did like the packaging of the KMX's. I think they were kind of cool looking. For the most part, I think Coke does a pretty good job with all the cans of it's drinks. Most of them are pretty appealing.

I wish that the KMX's were still around, because I only got to try each one once. I would like to go back and compare KMX Orange to the taste of Cocaine Energy Drink.

Uptime

This stuff wasn't very good.

It tasted to me like I was drinking carbonated water with a splash of lemon and lime juice. It tasted flat, boring, and was barely worth drinking. I didn't really enjoy it at all.

I bought this at a healthy food store, and that was the only time I have ever seen it.

Packaging is boring, ugly, and overcrowded. There is too much going on with the can, you don't know where to focus your attention. I really don't have anything good to say about this drink.

Overall 2/10.

Rumba

Rumba is a unique energy drink, because of the fact that it is 100% juice. Many energy drinks contain juice, but very few claim to be 100%.

Rumba is owned by Hansen's, who also owns Monster. Another unique thing about Rumba is that it is non-carbonated. I'm not really sure who Rumba is trying to appeal to, but I have seen it at some healthy food stores.

Rumba has a good taste, much cleaner and with less of a bad aftertaste than most drinks, it has a strong orange flavor, which in this case was well done. I like the fact that this drink is uncarbonated, because I don't think it would be as good.

Packaging is boring, with a blue background and a huge orange at the bottom. I like the fact that they mention that it is juice and non-carbonated, because it shows the major selling points, but other than that the packaging is pretty lame.

Overall 6/10.

Nitro2Go

Nitro 2 Go was the 50th energy drink that was added to my collection.

On the can, Nitro 2 Go has many promises of power, and it follows through with a big boost of energy. I like the can, even though it may seem very busy and full. I like the colors used, and I like the name of the drink. Nitro 2 Go claims to be "Body Fuel", which I think is a good slogan.

As far as taste goes, Nitro 2 Go is very original, it seems to me like it would be a Red Bull clone, but it is somewhat different. It has a very juicelike taste, that is almost sour. I kind of like the way it tastes, but I've definitely had better.

Number 50 in my collection gets a 6/10.

Fire Power

Fire Power Energy Drink, is a drink that I am pretty sure is owned by Nitro 2 Go, because I always see them together.

I have no memory of what Fire Power tasted like, but I think that I thought it was pretty good.

I like the can, it's a little bit plain, but it does it's job and gets the point across. I'm not exactly sure what the deal with Fire Power and Nitro 2 Go is, but every single time I have seen one, the other one is not too far away.

A decent drink 5/10.

Energade Citrus

Energade Citrus is yet another energy drink that was discontinued in the Hansen's line long ago.

This one like the last Energade also says, "2 parts sports drink, 1 part energy drink."
It has the typical citrus flavor that I expected, it tastes like it should be sugar-free, but it isn't. I really don't enjoy this flavor, and I cannot begin to imagine why there are so many energy drinks out there with this exact same taste.

As far as packaging, it's probably even worse than the last Energade I reviewed. The green color really doesn't look good on the can, it looks way too big for the print on the can, and it just doesn't seem to fit right if you ask me.

Overall 3/10.

Energade Orange

The Energade Orange can says, " 2 parts sports drink, 1 part energy drink."

This is yet another energy drink from Hansen's Beverages. I really am not a huge fan of the energy drinks they've come out with, excluded all the Monsters. Energade, like most of the other drinks by them was a flop as well.

It had a typical Orange flavor that you get with any kind of orange soda or Gatorade, nothing special at all. I'm not sure what they were trying to accomplish by saying that this is a sports drink and an energy drink, but it's an interesting scheme.

Packaging is a cheap looking 24 oz. can that has nothing really special to offer at all.

Overall a really boring energy drink that brings nothing new to the table, I really don't have too much good to say about this.

For some reason everytime I see Joker, I think that it resembles Monster a lot.

I think that this is because they both used the same fonts, or something like that.

This is one of the last energy drinks, that I would expect to taste like Red Bull, but that's more or less what it tastes like. In this case, it tasting like Red Bull really isn't all that bad, because it is better than a lot of the Red Bull imitators out there, and it comes in a 16 oz. can, which is always a plus in my book.

The can is decent, which a black background and a Joker or Jester on the front of the can. Overall a pretty good drink, I would say 7/10.

Happy Bunny Spaz Juice

This is a pretty interesting drink, that someone got for me back a long time ago. I believe it was bought at some video store.

I think that this drink is one made from the Boston America Corp., and if so, this was the first of many of the drinks I have had from this company. If you aren't familiar, this company has quite a few energy drinks with different things such as Family Guy characters, movie characters, and Donkey Kong even.

If you are a cotton candy flavor fan, than this would be a good drink for you. Spaz Juice has that very sweet cotton candyish flavor. I am not really a fan of anything cotton candy flavored from gum to energy drinks so I didn't like this drink so much.

I think that this can is only appealing to a small audience, which is people that like Happy Bunny products, but I think that is part of what Boston American does, they try to appeal to one group at a time.

Overall 5/10.

Hansen's Energy Pro

So I'm not sure exactly whether this drink is different from the regular Hansen's Energy Drink, but I have it still.

I don't really like the way this drinks tastes. It's like a stale citrus and lemon-lime flavor. It always tastes like it's expired even when it's not. Most citrus drinks, don't have a good solid taste, but I have come across a few here and there over the years.

The can on this one in my opinion is too crowded. It's similar to the Original Hansen's Energy can, but there's been pointless stuff added, like the surfer on the can and the name pro only crowd it up.

I think this drink was kind of pointless, I'm not sure if it was supposed to be some special limited edition thing or what, but it was no big thrill.

Overall 3/10.

Lucozade

I believe that Lucozade is the most popular energy drink in the U.K., but I am not really sure why.

I remember this drink tasting absolutely awful, I drank this with friends when I was probably 13 years old and we pretty much all agreed that this stuff tastes like piss.
It was pretty much disgusting, and even with friends all having some, when didn't even get close to finishing it.

I can't imagine walking around with this bright orange bottle, and having to take sip after sip of that sick bright yellow liquid.

Packaging, I would say is a little over the top, a very curvy bright orange and yello w bottle, with a glowing yellow liquid is a little much for me.

Overall 2/10.

BPM Citrus Green

BPM Citrus Green was another drink that my dad picked up for me when he was in the U.K.

I'm pretty sure that BPM is a decently large chain in the U.K., but I could be wrong, and I do know that there is one other flavor of this drink that I don't have.

BPM Citrus Green, thankfully was not also a Red Bull clone, but I do not remember it being amazing either. I don't remember the taste of this stuff enough to describe it, but I was not blown away.

I like the packaging of this drink better than that of Boost, but I like canned energy drinks much more than bottles for the most part. I think that the bright green color is a smart choice as opposed to the silver of Boost.

Overall another mediocre drink. 5/10.

Boost

Boost is an energy drink that my dad picked up for me years ago in either England or Ireland.

Boost was the first energy drink that I ever had from another country. I had no idea what to expect. When I opened Boost and took a smell, I knew the smell exactly. This drink was a Red Bull clone. At this point, I've only had 40 different kinds of energy drinks, but I know a clone when I smell one.

As far as packaging, this was the first bottled energy drink added to my collection. I personally am not at all a fan of bottles. I think Boost looks somewhat cheap and tacky because it is in a plastic bottle, but I like the fact that this drink is about 20 oz. or so.

For my first energy drink from outside the U.S. I expected to get something a little more authentic and original, but I'm happy I got it nonetheless.

Overall 4/10

Pimpjuice

Back when I was about 12 or 13 years old, and I walked into a gas station hoping to find this drink, my mom told me she would make me walk home if I came out with it. Thankfully I found it, and I didn't have to walk home either.

Pimpjuice is an energy drink which Nelly has something to do with. I'm not sure whether he owns it, is the president of the company, or just backs it with his name and shows up for events.

The drink itself is light green, almost neon, and it tastes like very sweet carbonated apple juice. I'm pretty sure it actually does have some apple juice in it, which would explain. Pimpjuice is very pleasing in taste.

I've always thought the can for pimpjuice looks something like a cigarette. I think the can is decent looking, but I think it could be improved upon.

Overall I enjoy the taste of Pimpjuice and I give it a 7/10.

Kronik

Kronik Energy is a great drink.

From the second I opened and smelled this stuff, I knew I was going to like it. Upon first opening it, you are hit with the smell of pineapple. It smells strong and sweet, and it tastes just like it smells. If you like pineapple juice, pineapples, or anything pineapple flavored, this is a drink you should try.

The can is awesome with the black background and the blue lightning bolts. I really like everything about this drink. It has very few if any problems, and was one of my favorite energy drinks at the time I drank it.

Since Kronik Original, they have come out with two more flavors, but I cannot wait until they come out with more.

Overall 9/10

Monster Assault

I became very excited back in the day when I realized they were coming out with a new Monster.

However, I was very very disappointed with this. I've only had this flavor one time, I've had all the other multiple times, but for some reason this was just not good. It tasted to me like the makers took 8 oz. of Monster, and then took 8 oz. of Coke and poured them together into this new can. That's what I think this drink tastes like.

I really do like the packaging though, even though it just got changed. I think that every single Monster can is awesome looking and this is no exception. I like the dark camouflage, it makes the drink look appealing and cool.

Overall though, I think Monster could have done a better job with this, but they picked up there game on their other drinks like M-80 and Khaos.

Assault gets 5/10.

XTC

XTC is an interesting beverage.

I'm not sure where this brand is going with the name XTC, I would assume it's a reference to Ecstasy, but I can't be sure, it doesn't say anywhere on the can. This is another drink, that I have only seen one time in my life. I assume this drink was discontinued, but I believe you may still be able to buy single cans of it on the internet.

As far as flavor, all I remember is that it tasted like medicine. It had a bad aftertaste, but I can't describe what the flavor was in detail. I wasn't very impressed with the flavor of the drink.

The packaging/name of this are interesting. It kind of makes you wonder what it could be, and I guess that could be a reason for buying it. But it seems more like a novelty product that should be sold in Spencer's rather than a legit energy drink.

I give it 4/10.

Atomic X

I have only seen Atomic X one time in my life, but I wish I could find it again.

This drink also had an orange flavor, but it was different then that of NOS or Source Burn. This orange was less sour, and more sweet, and it also had a hint of creaminess. The best way I can describe the taste is a Stewart's Oranges and Cream Soda. It was very enjoyable though, and did not have even a hint of a bad aftertaste as most energy drinks do.

Once again, I like the bright 16 oz. packaging. It is very recognizable and if you were to see this on a shelf, there would be no question what it is. I wish that this was easier to get, or that it had not been discontinued if that were the case.
Overall a great drink. 8/10

Source Burn

Source Burn was a pretty good energy drink.

It has a flavor very similar, if not exactly the same as NOS. At the point that I got Source Burn, NOS energy did not even exist yet. So this makes me believe that Source was the original maker of this formula. If you don't know, NOS has a sour orange taste that is very good.

The Source Burn Can is decent. I like the later Source Burn 2 drink much better as far as packaging, mostly because it is 16 oz. and just looks overall nicer. I do think that yellow is a good choice though, because it would be almost impossible to miss on a shelf of dark colored energy drinks.

Overall a good original drink, I give it 7/10

Mega Energy Cranberry Lime

I wasn't too impressed with this flavor from Mega Energy.

The previous two flavors I reviewed, I enjoyed both of the drinks. Something about this one bothered me though. First of all, I do not like the fact that this drink only comes in sugar free. I don't like sugar free drinks, which is why I don't actually collect them, but when I see a drink that is only made with a sugar free version I still get it.

As with the other Mega and Omega drinks, I think the packaging is decent.

As far as the flavor goes, it's not sweet at all. Probably because there is no sugar. It tastes like cranberry juice without any sweetness at all. Pretty boring and hard to drink if you ask me. But it might be good if you drink a lot of sugar free drinks.

Overall pretty bad. 3/10

Mega Energy Lime Mojito

When I saw this I knew that it was made by the same people as the 2nd drink I reviewed, Omega Energy, so I was very excited for this one.

As with Omega, I like the can of Mega Lime Mojito, I think it looks really nice with all the green in it, it looks interesting, clean, and pleasing to the eye.

I also like the idea of a Mojito flavored energy drink. If anyone out there doesn't know, a mojito is an alcoholic drink that originated in Cuba. It usually consists of rum, mint, and lime. It is citrus flavored and is supposed to be very refreshing.

A mojito energy drink is a very unique idea. When I drank this drink, I really enjoyed it. I thought that the lime and cool mint flavors went together very well.
Overall it was a very clean tasting refreshing drink. I think it was a well put together drink, and I give it a 8/10.

Mad Croc (Updated)

When I first saw this drink, I thought it was a completely new and different energy drink from the last Mad Croc I tried.

After buying it, and then doing a little research, I realized that this was the same drink as before, they had just changed the packaging. For some reason I still kept the can though.

I do like this can a lot more than the other one because it looks quite a bit different than Red Bull. They made it bigger and changed the colors on the can.
I would definitely say it's an improvement to the old can though.

I was disappointed when I realized that it tasted exactly the same.

But since I now like the can better I'll give it 5/10.

Pitbull

I bought Pitbull Energy long ago at a Randall's Grocery Store. I'm not sure if Pitbull is directly associated with that store, or what the deal is.

I remember that I thought Pitbull looked pretty cool. It followed the trend of putting a fierce looking animal on the front of the can, and I think the Pitbull is a pretty good animal to represent an energy drink.

Upon drinking Pitbull, I tasted a recognizable flavor. It was the same as Bookoo. Many energy drinks use this fake citrus taste with a bad aftertaste. I really don't like it, but maybe a lot of people do.

I really wasn't thrilled with the taste of this drink, but I do like the packaging ideas, and I think that it could have been successful with a little better quality drink.

Overall 4/10

Piranha Pucker-Up Apple

Piranha Pucker-Up Apple is the last flavor in the Piranha line, which is made by EAS.

It has a very sour apple flavor that is pleasing. It's not bitter at all which is a plus. The flavor has room to improve on with the aftertaste, but it's not a bad drink.

As with the other 16 oz. Piranha, I do not like the silver background of the can, for some reason it makes the whole drink look unpleasing. I much prefer the earlier Piranha's that were 8 oz. and more colorful.

This is just another drink in the line of the Piranha's which is nothing incredible. As I said before there is only one which I really enjoy.

Overall this drink is a 5/10.

Blue

Blue Energy is the first organic healthy energy drink that I tried.

Blue unlike most healthy energy drinks is actually good. I enjoyed the light cotton candy taste, which as I said reminds me a lot of Blue Ox. I like the idea that everything including the name, can, and liquid is blue. It's an interesting marketing choice.

I have seen this at many healthy food stores in my area, such as Whole Foods, this along with a few others are the major sellers at these kind of stores.

Blue is produced by the Blue Sky Company, which is well known among healthy soda drinkers, they have a vast selection of different healthy sodas.

Overall I think that Blue has found it's spot in the energy drink market and has stayed successful there. I think it's a good drink from a good company and then it has staying power in the market of the healthy energy drink consumer.

Full Throttle

Full Throttle is Coke's entry into the energy drink world, that came out shortly after it's previous entry, 2 flavors of KMX (which I will review shortly) failed.

People I talk to about Full Throttle have very mixed opinions, but here is mine. Ever since original Full Throttle, many new flavors have been added to the line. But each time, the drinks seem to get worse and worse. Personally I enjoy a Full Throttle as a change every once in a while, but once you have Full Throttle Bad Mother, and Full Throttle Hydration + Energy, you will be disgusted.

Original Full Throttle to me seems very citrus and lime flavored, but it's more enjoyable than many of the citrus drinks out there.

Overall I think Coke had a good drink with the original, but they have gone down hill since.

Packaging is good, with the kind of gothic look to the text. I like the flames as well.

Full Throttle gets a 7/10

Rip It Power

This is the original flavor of what is now a huge line of energy drinks. They are mostly sold at Wal-Mart, but for me they have been getting harder and harder to find.

A great thing about the Rip It line is that they sell for .99 cents. Which is great if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to high priced energy drinks.

Rip It, for .99 cents, still tastes great.

The packaging looks somewhat cheap, but Rip It kept getting better on packaging with each new drink they released, so the newer drinks look a lot better than this one. But all in all it is definitely worth the dollar. It is a great energy drink for people who buy on a regular basis, instead of as a treat or an occasional thing.

I think Rip It brand has a lot of potential to gain loyal following customers.

Hype

I like a lot of things about Hype Energy Drink.

First of all, I like the can. It's clean and looks foreign, I like the font that says Hype and the blue dots on the silver can.

I believe that Hype is a Red Bull clone, but it is twice the size, and not close to twice the price. I would much rather buy a 16 oz. Hype than one Red Bull.

I don't think that Hype is sold much if at all in the U.S. any more though, I think it is mainly sold up in Canada, but I may be wrong.

Overall a solid drink, that I recommend over Red Bull.

It gets 6/10.

Rush

Rush is a generic energy drink with very little to offer.

I've had this drink two times now and neither time can I remember the flavor. If I had to guess though I would say it's a Red Bull knockoff.

The can for Rush seems childish and boring. If I didn't have a collection there is no way that I would buy it over one of the major brands though. I still continue to see Rush around from time to time, and I wonder each time how it still exists.

Overall a pretty boring drink with very little to offer. It gets 4/10.

Bookoo Wild Berry

I drank Bookoo Wild Berry on Christmas day 4 years ago.

I loved everything about this drank. Unlike the other Bookoo, I took this one a lot slower and didn't end up with a horrible stomach ache. This one in my opinion had a much better flavor than that of Bookoo Original Citrus. It did not taste flat, and seemed to last for ever with the 24 oz. can.

Maybe it's only because I was drinking this on Christmas, or maybe it's cause everything about it is actually good, but I love this drink. I like the purplish vertical letters that say Bookoo with the black background, and I love the fact that this drink is 24 oz.

I have nothing but good memories with this drink.

It gets 9/10.

Blue Ox

I only saw Blue Ox one time, and it was in my local grocery store. I'm glad I picked it up.

I remember the liquid of Blue Ox being blue. I really enjoyed it, and was the first of a few more energy drinks with this flavor that I would go on to taste. I'm not positive but I think Blue Ox tasted like Blue Energy, which I will review later on. It tastes almost like cotton candy, and is very sweet on your tongue.

I like the packaging of this drink, with the big blue ox standing tall on the front of the can. It looks powerful, and could be appealing to a large group of people.

I believe that this company failed with Blue Ox, and went on to make Blox drinks, which I believe also failed, because I got them at Big Lots.

I would like to see Blue Ox again though, it was pretty good. It gets 7/10.

Invigor8

Invigor8 is a product that was put on the market by V8, back about 4 years ago.

I don't remember the taste of this drink so much, but that alone makes me think I didn't like it all that much. I was skeptical about even buying this drink for fear that it would taste like V8, but I remember it was not nearly that bad.

I like the packaging with the orange tornado looking design, but I think they could have made it more obvious that it was made by V8. That may have contributed to the reason that this did not stay on the market for very long at all.

Overall a forgettable tasting drink, with mediocre packaging. It gets a 5/10.

Rawlings EX2

Wow. So this was the 21st energy drink I tasted. It was also the very first one I could not finish.

On the can it calls this a Citrus Punch energy drink. First of all, thats two major flavors at once. Doesn't it seem like it has to be on or the other? Anyways, this did not work, it tasted bitter, and just disgusting. It was not sweet at all, and I remember drinking about 2 of the 8 oz. and just realizing it was absolutely not worth it.

Rawlings if you don't know is a sporting goods company, I guess they thought they would just hop into the energy drink industry and give it a try, but they failed miserably. This drink was on the market for all of about 4 months. They should stick to baseball bats and gloves.

I've seen worse packaging in my life, but Rawlings' is nothing to rave about in any way.

This gets 2/10.

Piranha Wild Watermelon Kiwi

This is the 4th of the Piranha energy drinks I tried, and the 20th energy drink in my collection.

In my opinion, even though I like the fact that Piranha made this one 16 oz., it has a worse can design and flavor then many of the other drinks.

I don't like the silver background, it makes the can look cheap. It doesn't look as appealing as say Piranha Outrageous Orange Pineapple. The pinkish colored fish doesn't exactly look like something most men would want to be see carrying into the gym before a workout either.

As far as taste it is close to the level of most of the other flavors. It's decent for an energy drink, but I'd honestly rather just grab some strawberry kiwi juice.

It's a little above the level of most energy drinks, but not by much. I give it a 6/10.

Piranha Outrageous Orange Pineapple

This is by far my favorite of the 5 Piranha energy drinks.

It has the best packaging in my opinion. I think the black background gels well with the fish. I think it may make the can a little less noticeable on a shelf, seeing as there are so many drinks with black cans nowadays, but I like the way it looks.

As for flavor, this one does not disappoint. It blows all the other Piranha flavors out of the water. You can taste both the orange and the pineapple equally well, and both are refreshing and enjoyable.

If i were to see all the Piranha's again, this would be the only one that I would buy and drink again. This drink in my memory was nearly perfect, I give it a 9/10.

Piranha Phunky Fruit Punch

This flavor of the Piranha line is an upgrade of the last flavor I reviewed, Bone Crushing citrus.

As with the last can, I like the package, good color scheme, good logo, big "EAS" across the top so you know it comes from a reputable company. It has a good solid can.

As for the taste, I tend to like punch flavored energy drinks more than citrus, and this is no exception. This drink has a generic fruit punch taste, that you can probably get for a lot cheaper in a six pack of juice boxes. But if your looking for a fruit punch flavored energy drink, you could give this a shot, that is if it still exists.

This is also not my favorite of the Piranha line, but I definitely like it better than the Bone Crushing Citrus flavor. It gets a 7/10.

Piranha Bone Crushing Citrus

Made by EAS, a well known body building supplement company, this flavor of Piranha is a decent entry into the category. I like the clean straightforwardness of the can. This was not my favorite of the Piranha line, which I am pretty sure no longer exists, but it was still decent.

I believe that it had a very strong citrus taste, but not the flat taste that you get in many of the citrus energy drinks. The liquid was either yellow or green in color.

I'm not sure how successful these drinks were, because I believe they were only sold at GNC stores, but I can't be sure. This may be part of the reason why the brand failed.

Overall a mediocre energy drink. It receives 5/10.

Hansen's Energy Drink

Hansen's doesn't really even need this drink now that they have Monster. Actually, I'm pretty sure they stopped making this, because I haven't seen it in a few years.

I don't have any memory of what this tasted like, but I want to say it had a citrus taste. Maybe that's just because of the bright green can.

I like the can, I like the colors and fonts that are used. But I definitely think that Monster was a huge step in the right direction for Hansen's. I'm not sure if this energy drink was intended to be healthy as a lot of Hansen's products are. (Not Monster)

Overall though based off packaging and the guess I have on flavor, I would rate this a 5/10

YJ Stinger Pounding Punch

I'm not even sure what I should call this drink. It has "YJ Stinger" as well as "Stacker 2" on the can, so it confuses me right off the bat.

Another aspect of this drink that is poor is the taste. I remember that it was pretty much a failure at delivering a pounding punch flavor. It was bitter, and not sweet or enjoyable at all. It didn't seem to have the nice carbonation of some other drinks.

Packaging is alright besides the confusion. I like the idea of the bee, although it has absolutely nothing to do with the name of the drink. Not a huge fan of the pink background, but hey I didn't make the product.

I would have improved on a lot of things if I had any part in making this stuff. It gets a 2/10.

180 Energy Drink

180 is Anheuser Busch's entry into energy drinks.

I still see 180 around from time to time, and there were other flavors out on the market at different times as well, which I guess is a good sign.

This particular flavor is called Orange Citrus Blast. I didn't ever catch the citrus, but it tasted like orange soda with extra carbonation. It was enjoyable, but I would take a Rockstar or other drinks over this.

The packaging for 180 is very unique. The front side is normal as you can see, but on the back it is the exact same image flipped over, or rotated 180 degrees. I think it's kind of cool. Definitely original and interesting.

I give 180 a 6/10.

Go Go Go Juice

I have only seen this drink twice in my life. One time, was 4 years ago at the gas station a mile from my house, and the second a week ago at some random gas station in Alabama.

That being said. I have no memory of the flavor. My best guess would be that it is a Red Bull knockoff, but I can't be sure. It seems like another energy drink that very few people have ever had.

I don't like the packaging, it looks cheap and strange. If I didn't have a collection , I would never try it. I guess there is a reason i have only seen it twice. Not a memorable taste, and not pleasant packaging.

I give Go Go Go Juice a 3/10.

Vamp

Vamp is a strange energy drink. I got it at the same gas station as Pure Power, but have seen it lately in Spencer's. I think it belongs in Spencer's more than a gas station. It seems like much more of a novelty item than something people would buy on a regular basis.

If I remember the right, it was a blood red liquid, not surprising with the link to vampires. I believe it was a cherry flavored drink, that was actually pretty good.

I don't really like the packaging that much, it's a little to dark for my taste, and I wouldn't really want to be seen walking around with a can of it in my hand. Although I am sure there's many people out there who would be more than happy to.

To me it just seems like a product that doesn't appeal to a very wide audience and never will be very successful. It gets a 5/10.

Pure Power

Pure Power is an interesting energy drink.

I have seen it a few times in my life, but not since about 3 years ago. I used to see it at Albertson's, but I got in a gas station before that.

If I remember, Pure Power had the same "flat Sprite" taste as I mentioned Bookoo did, but I could be wrong after all these years.

I like the packaging, with the blue spirals in the background on a silver can. I don't really like the font that was used or the whole deal at the top of the can.

I have no clue about the energy level I received from this, but it was probably decent considering this was the 11th energy drink I had in my life.

I don't think I would buy this again if it was still around, nothing worth remembering. Mediocre at best. I give it a 4/10.

Red Bull

Ok, so I feel pathetic in the fact that I have to put up a review for this. No one wants to sit on the computer and read a review about the most widely known energy drink in the world. So I won't waste our time. Basically, if you have tasted Red Bull you have your own opinion. If you haven't you need to get out of the house and try one, and then form your own opinion. My opinion, it's above average, but nothing mind-blowing. 7/10.

Mad Croc

When you first look at this can of Mad Croc only one thing comes to mind. Red Bull.

Apparently, I'm not positive on this, but Mad Croc either got sued, or had a threat to get sued by Red Bull. That's pretty understandable when you take a look and a taste of the two.

Mad Croc is Red Bull in taste as well. It tastes exactly the same, looks exactly the same, and essentially is besides the name.

While I like Red Bull quite a bit, I also like the idea of the copycats, because they are often cheaper, and if people see you with something they've never heard of it gives a different image then walking around with a Red Bull. This though crosses the line in my book, and Mad Croc has changed it's can at least twice now. Which makes it a lot better.

I give Mad Croc a 3/10 mostly due to lack of originality.

Bookoo

Bookoo is the first 24 oz. energy drink I tried. At 12 years old my mom wasn't too thrilled about the fact that I was drinking this.

I remember not really liking the taste of the original Bookoo. I describe this taste as I imagine flat Sprite would taste. However, I thought it was cool that Bookoo was so big, and I continued to drink it. The more I drank the worse I felt. Despite the fact that I didn't like it, I managed to finish the whole can in 20 or 30 minutes. I had a terrible stomach ache, and had nothing to do but sit in the car for a 2 hour ride.

I don't have the best memories of Bookoo, but luckily as you will see in later reviews Bookoo cleaned up there act and gave me better ones.

Packaging for Bookoo is a definite plus, at 24 oz. this can sticks out a lot. It is noticeable and great for people who want the biggest and the baddest. I like the vertical font and the colors used.

I think that this is a good entry into the energy drink category, but that they could have improved on this certain flavor.I give it 4/10.

Sobe Adrenaline Rush

Adrenaline Rush is the next drink I tried, as well as another Sobe Energy Drink.

I remember that I didn't like the taste as much as I liked No Fear. I think it was more bitter and possibly had more of a grapefruit taste?

The packaging for Adrenaline Rush however, I like more. I think it's cleaner and less tacky. The only downfall is the fact that it is 8 oz. I like the color scheme used, and like the use of the "Sobe lizard". The drink looks like it would be refreshing.

Part of the reason I am not a huge fan of 8 oz cans is because I don't feel like they can deliver the level of energy that a larger can can. Adrenaline Rush proves to be no different from the other 8 oz. cans in this department.

All in all a decent attempt at an energy drink. I rate it 6/10.

Amp

Mountain Dew has a pretty popular energy drink with amp.

I realize that I have the very old version of this can, and that amp is now mostly sold in 16 oz cans. Although I have seen a few 8 oz. cans pop up as well.

I don't like the old packaging of Amp so much, but I think that the new lighter colored 16 oz. can is much better. I think 8 oz. energy drinks are all too small (excluding a few which can't be small enough)

I enjoy the flavor of Amp, although I taste a lot of Mountain Dew in it as well. I don't really understand why people would buy Amp so much, because to me I'd rather just buy a Mountain Dew and save a dollar.

I give Amp a 5/10.

Sobe No Fear Energy Drink

Sobe No Fear is another of the old energy drinks. Sobe is a brand that proved itself long ago, and has developed a following.

Sobe No Fear is yet another 16 oz. energy drink that packs a punch. I think it has a good taste, with a strong pineapple flavor. I remember the flavor being very crisp and original.

Packaging is decent, nothing to amazing, it looks a little boring. It doesn't have the same look as a Monster or Rockstar. In my opinion it looks a little cheap. I think the newer designs that have come out with recently are a lot better than the one I have a picture of.

I think Sobe has a decent product with No Fear but there is definitely room for some improvement.

I rate it 5/10.

Rockstar Energy Drink

Rockstar Energy Drink is a classic. I believe that everyone in the world should try this drink at some point in their life.

While I normally laugh at the idea of acquired tastes, this drink has made me believe they exist. When I first tried Rockstar, I thought it was awful. I couldn't stand it. I hated it. I thought it tasted like I was chewing on a stale piece of bubble gum. But for some reason a year or so later, I decided to give it another try. I still did not really enjoy it, but I didn't hate it. I drank it one or two more times, and the flavor of it grew on me. I started to taste more sweetness and less bitterness. Now Rockstar is probably my favorite tasting mainstream energy drink.

I have liked the can from the first time I tried it. I like the gold font on black background, and I like the gold star with back to back "R's" inside.

Rockstar has become one of the drinks I can grab when I need a good taste quick pick-me-up. It never fails and always tastes good.

I am a Rockstar fan, and I give it a 10/10.

Lost Energy Drink

Lost Energy Drink seems epic at first glance. It has an eye catching can, with so much going on you could look at it for 10 minutes and not understand everything going on.

I was very excited when I first got this drink. 4 years ago, I was not at all familiar with Lost Enterprises, now I'm still not all that familiar, but I know that they sell surf stuff and other things besides an energy drink.

When first opening this drink, I was expecting something completely original. When I took the first sip, I noticed a familiar taste. Lost is exactly the same as Monster. This confused me, how could they get away with this? Then I begin to read the can, and I get my answer. Lost is made by the guys at Monster.

Some people may be disappointed when first realizing this, but it's really only a bad thing if you hate monster. I like the can, even though there is a lot going on.

While Lost doesn't score originality points, it scores for me with cleverness. Monster has two of the same products out there and whichever you buy, they still make money. I give lost a 7/10.

Omega Energy Drink

Omega Energy Drink was the second energy drink I ever had. I never see this drink around anymore and I think it got discontinued, but I remember that I really enjoyed it. It tasted more like juice than an energy drink, and it had a clean refreshing taste.

Omega was made by Fuze, and I think they did a good job with the packaging. At the top it says, "Got the Juice", which gets the point across that it contains juice. At the bottom it also lists some of the energy-giving ingredients.

As far as the name, I am not quite sure what Omega has to do with energy. Most energy drinks have a fierce animal or something as there name, but Omega does not disappoint when you drink it.

Omega has a little picture on the side that says "No High Fructose Corn Syrup". I guess this is good if you don't want HFCS, but the majority of energy drink drinkers probably could care less.

Overall I loved the taste of Omega and I give it a 6/10

Monster Energy Drink

One day, I was talking to a friend of mine named Adam,he told me that he had tasted a sample of a drink called Monster Energy Drink in a grocery store. He told me that he thought it was pretty good. About a week later I was in a gas station, and I decided I would give this drink a try. This begins my collection that now has over 500 energy drinks. Monster Energy Drink was the first energy drink I ever tasted. It was 4 years ago and I was 12 years old.

Monster was the beginning for me, and started me off on a collection of energy drinks which today is at 520. With 16 ounces and 160 mg of caffeine, Monster brings us 2 times the amount of energy as a Red Bull, without doubling the price. This is why I believe Monster became so popular and started off the rush of 16 ounce energy drinks. Combine the extra energy with a powerful sour taste that is enjoyable and keeps people coming back for more.

It seems that you cannot walk down a street in an American city without seeing someone holding a can of this. It is the equivalent for teenagers of an adult carrying around a Starbucks cup. This being said, while I do like Monster, I have realized that there are many different energy drinks out there that are worth trying instead of just always grabbing one of these.

The packaging is clean and memorable, there is not too much going on at once like so many of the cans we see popping up these days. They hit the high points by getting the point across that it is an energy drink and they give some ingredients across the top.

Overall, Monster is nearly flawless in the image it has created for itself, and it's reconstruction of the energy drink industry. It combines all of the elements needed to be a successful product. Based off of all this I give it 9/10.
